ELEVATOR PITCHES - THE ESSENTIALS

How to change your world in 60 seconds or less!

An elevator pitch may be the MOST important tool in your business arsenal. In 60 seconds or less you should be able to communicate the excitement of your script or screenplay so that any potential investor/producer/agent travelling in the same elevator would want to take YOUR project further.

The exciting thing about a cappuccino, is the froth at the top of the coffee. THAT's what you are selling in a pitch - NOT the coffee. You want the person to be so excited that they cannot wait to read your entire script. Do NOT tell people the complete story or else why should they ask for the script. Also, if they DO read the script they will subliminally think they have already heard THAT story.

This is what you should keep in mind when creating your video pitch. Do NOT tell the entire story.

Another golden rule is: presume you are in a short building. This does NOT mean speak faster, it means get it clear and concise. You do not want the executive getting out of the elevator thinking that you were a great orator. The ONLY thing you want that Executive to be thinking about is : What a GREAT idea!

Before you committ your pitch to video, practise, practise and PRACTISE. That way you will come across relaxed and fully in control of your material. Take the time and make it GREAT!
